Detailed Estimates and Costing

The budget should be understood before work begins rather than discovered during it. That means an estimate with quantities and specifications against every line, not a single number.

Why the format matters

Most interior quotations are impossible to compare because they are structured differently and specify nothing. A line reading “modular kitchen — lump sum” can mean almost anything. We itemise by room and by trade with quantities and specifications attached, so you can see what you are paying for, compare it against someone else’s quotation, and know exactly which line to change when the total is too high.

Where estimates go wrong

Two places. Provisional items presented as firm, and scope that was discussed but never written down. We flag provisional sums as provisional and keep the scope document and the estimate in step with each other, so a change to one produces a change to the other rather than an argument later.

No prices on this website

You will not find a price list here, and you should be sceptical of interior sites that have one. A real figure depends on the condition of the space, the extent of the work and the finishes chosen. What we can promise is that the estimate you receive is itemised, specific, and honest about what is not yet known.
