Six stages, and what
Most interior projects go wrong in the gaps between stages. This is the order we work in, what happens at each point, and what you should have in your hands at the end of it.

Understand
Who lives or works here, and how
Before anything is drawn we go through the space as it is used: who is in it, at what times, what has to be stored, what already frustrates you. Most bad interiors are not ugly — they are laid out for a household that does not exist.
What you get
A written brief, a measured plan of the existing space, and an agreed list of what the project has to solve.

Plan
Layout before decoration
Practical space planning comes first: circulation, daylight, storage volumes, where services already run. Getting this right is worth more than any finish, and it is the stage where a small flat gains a room's worth of usable space.

Furniture layout options for each room, with the trade-offs of each one written down rather than implied.

Design
Concept, materials, light
The layout is worked up into a design — ceiling and lighting scheme, joinery, colour, and material and finish selection taken to the point where every choice is specific rather than approximate.
What you get
A design scheme per room, a material and finish list, and the reasoning for each selection.

Estimate
Costed before work begins
A detailed, accurate cost estimate against the agreed scope, itemised by room and by trade. The budget is understood before work begins rather than discovered during it, and where something is over budget you can see exactly which line to change.
What you get
An itemised estimate you can read, compare and cut, with quantities and specifications against every line.

Execute
Built to the drawings
Quality execution against the approved drawings and specifications, with the sequence of trades planned so work is not opened up twice. Materials are checked on delivery rather than after installation.
What you get
A work sequence, a single point of contact, and drawings on site that match the ones you approved.

Hand over
Regular site visits, then snagging
Regular site visits and attention to detail throughout, then a proper snag list walked with you, closed, and re-checked before handover rather than after it.
What you get
A snag list closed in writing, and the finish and hardware details recorded for whoever maintains the space later.
